Benefits of Advanced Neuromuscular Massage Therapy

  • The body is interconnected and the holistic approach of ANMT pays special attention to this interconnectedness. The cause of injury and ailments are addressed in a systematic and methodical manner.

  • ANMT is built on the work of Janet Travell. It is medically informed and has been shown to improve healthcare outcomes.

  • A combination of modalities achieve the desired results. Swedish manipulations relax the muscle and prepare it for deeper, more focused work at the site of dysfunction. Trigger Point Therapy aligns muscle fibers at the cellular level to alleviate pain and improve strength, stability, flexibility, circulation, and overall function.

Qualifications

I believe that massage therapy is medicine. It is an integral part of a whole-body approach to health and wellness. Informed hands can interpret the body's needs and address them in a way that cannot be duplicated by Western medicine.

I have personally experienced the healing power of massage. The rigors of a nearly twenty-year career spent serving others in the military as well as a first responder took its toll and in 2019 I began to struggle with mental health issues, which then translated into physical symptoms. Driven by pride, I continued to work the busy streets of downtown San Francisco as a firefighter/paramedic, until my struggle became so significant that I was forced to seek help. I bounced from one doctor to another in an attempt to find a cure. I found relief in an unexpected place. I met a kind and patient massage therapist who put me on a path to wellness. My anxiety and depression slowly abated and with it, my physical symptoms.

Massage therapy became a calling and in 2020 I began to study in earnest. My training in Western medicine informs my massage practice. I stand on the shoulders of healers such as Janet Travell, who spent her life identifying and treating the source of bodily dysfunction. I can provide a relaxing experience and specialize in treating clients who struggle with medical problems. physical injury, and mental and emotional trauma. I also work with athletes who want to enhance their performance. The body is an interconnected system and must be approached holistically. I will work with you to identify your goals, discover the source of your pain, and develop a treatment plan so you can experience lasting healing and wellness.

I continue to enhance my skills as a healer and am currently attending the Yale School of Medicine Online Physician Assistant Program. I intend to integrate the principles of massage therapy into my practice as a primary care provider and to also bring an enhanced Western medicine knowledge base to my practice as a massage therapist. I believe this truly integrative approach provides superior results. Join me in this journey where East meets West.
